Fight against maoists: Its a war to preserve democracy

'The Hoot' which quite often and consistently acts as a media watch dog offering commentary on media related issues today published a piece of news in brief about a discussion that had taken place on CNN-IBN with Arundhati Roy on the issue of Naxal violence.

It said:
What is it about a discussion on Naxalism that draws out so much aggression in our TV anchors? On the 20th evening Arundhati Roy and and Gladson Dungdung from Jharkhand were at the receiving end of Rajdeep Sardesai and Suhasini Haidar on CNN IBN attacking them for being soft on Naxal violence. When they were finally able to make themselves heard they had perfectly rational counter arguments to offer on the core issues. (LINK)

I think this is absolute leftism it had displayed in the above commentary. I do ususally find the commentary balanced but this one made me think that the commentator whoever published the above piece was a Maoist sympathieser.

If you watch the program available HERE you would understand how Arundhati Roy tries to bring forth the an argument that the Indian armed forces numbering tens of thousands are taking on innocent tribals. This is appalling. And so untruly put by an out and out maoist supporter and sworn government basher. There have been no instances when the police forces or the central forces have targetted 'innocent' civilians as was being portrayed by her. As a matter of fact it was the maoists who often target innocent civilians suspecting them to be informers and for food.

Also Arundhati Roy tries to mislead that the presence of armed forces in such large numbers forces maoists to   take up weapons and protect themselves by unleashing violence. This is a blatant lie. The armed forces had never been there first. As a matter of fact the armed forces have never been around where you live or I live for instance. They had only mobilised in those areas after considerable activity of arsonage and brutal murders  by armed naxals/maoists of civilians and  policemen manning small little police stations in the nights for want of food or weapons. In fact in most cases maoists attack armed forces in transit even before they could reach their places of posting.

In such hostile enviroments the government of the country has a right to preserve the constitution of the nation and quell the anti-democracy forces that have taken to weapons and declared war against the nation.

In the meanwhile educated leftists in the public domain going around as intellectuals like Arundhati Roy take sides with the brutals and try to mislead the opinion of the nation through their warped theories of what they call 'realities'.
