The 'Promise' of leadership

The Congress high command will have tougher times ahead in trying to deal with the very delicate situation that arose with the death of YSR.

With a majority of legislators and ministers backing Jagan the Congress' chief seems not so interested for obvious reasons, one being his experience of less than 4 months in direct politics.

The Congress may opt to go for a stand in CM for a while who could very well be a neutral. The days and weeks ahead would be watched by one and all with curiosity. The high command for sure will spend some very anxious moments.

There is one thing the Congress' command has to keep in mind. The vast electorate that backed the party in the elections because of the Promise of leadership YSR offered. The Promise, although broken now, has given the party another chance to reaffirm the same through finding an able replacement. As we know its not easy to replace such men who leave a mark.

The choice of leadership must be a hard worker that understands the needs of the hour and acts rightly. One who offers promise and could take the state ahead with speedier development in all areas. One can only hope the Congress would not go for an intellectual dummy in order to strike a balance.

Whatever the outcome may be it is true that Jagan is going to be the most powerful man in state Congress.
