Google ads sell 'Terrorism'

Its a known fact that Google is a leading online advertising agent. Despite all the technologies at its disposal it is certainly a shame that Google cannot take care of sensitive filtering issues such as this.

Click on the pictures below and you will know what I am talking about. Google via its Adwords product is publishing ads from advertisers that try to sell their products in the name of "Islam Terrorism".
Curious to see what it is I clicked on the link in the picture above and this is where it led me to.


I was shocked to see the results. Not only was there no instance related to Terrorism which was the keyword but instead there were ads that sell myths and facts relating to faiths ( in many cases faiths other than Islam) and muslim matrimony services. Outrageous. Even more outrageous is the options available to choose from: 'Islam Terrorism', 'Terrorism Financing'.

What makes it worse is these ads have been doing the rounds for a while via 'Google ads'. I found it when I dug a bit on the internet and found this piece here.

It is a disgrace that such a pioneer in online space is unable to put proper filters on what is perhaps the best and the most flexible online advertising product. Time to pull up your socks Google lads, to prevent such disgusting advertisements from appearing on your network. Do not let advertisers exploit your products and unsuspecting surfers.
