You should be happy if the real needy persons get help directly with cash incentives (no middlemen). The following other methods failed to help the real needy.

1. Job Reservations: It benefited only the families who got the chance first. There after only their children, grand children were benefited. The real needy at the bottom of the social structure were never benefitted.

2. Political Reservations: Only the families who got the chance grabbed all the positions. Their wives, husbands, daughter's, son's, and other relatives were benefited. The real poor did not get the benefits.

Let some one help the real poor at the bottom of the social structure.

Yes. The poor should get a chance to taste the benefits of the economic progress the country has made. There is no denying that.

Governments should draw up policies that would attract more and more investments, make investments itself in every field it can and thereby create more jobs and help empower people.

My worry is that Naidu has not promised to provide people with a job failing which he can/should put them on social cover but rather awkwardly, wants to put people home and keep transferring money month after month after month which would in turn help him keep power.

I call it bribing. Its a 'money guarantee scheme'.

You are right. People are needy. They need jobs. Opportunities to shine. Not just free money.

it is better than the schems that we had already ,where middle man and politicians get benefits . only 10-15% reaches to the actual people in need.

do you know the amount spent on various schems is around 2500 rupees per person. also, there are lot of drawbacks like selling kirosen and rice etc... in black market.

The fund transfers directly to the poor is better than the schemes ..as no middle man present

I would be glad to agree with what you were tacitly suggesting, that Naidu is the better of the lot, if only you could convince me that Naidu's tenure as the CM of AP didn't see any of these black market dealings going on.

And believe me, I truly wish it was otherwise like Naidu made us all, and the international media too, believe before he was busted.

I am pretty sure my friend, that you have no idea whatsoever about the black marketing of FFW rice during the TDP's tenure or have you forgotten? When it comes to corruption everybody has their own standards each better than the other.

I think intellectuals have misunderstood his scheme. i think Babu intention is clear. he wants to take the schemes directly to the poor and needy.
Central govt. allocates crores to M.Ps who are suppose to take up small projects in their respective constituencies but they don't.
Out of the 40000 crores YSR spent till now on 50 irrigation projects not even 15% is properly utilized and rest went as commissions to corrupt polititians and hungry project undertakers. Now the projects are not even 4% complete.meanwhile our CM went ahead and started 30 more irrigation projects.I'll bet whoever is the party comes to power it will take 1 century to complete this many projects.

Its not intellectuals who misunderstood the scheme. It is you, I am sorry to say. Here is the link (http://budget.ap.gov.in/Glance09.pdf) for the Vote-on-account budget of this financial year. By any measure this one has one of the biggest revenue collections for the state ever. I am now asking you, The Intellectual, to put a figure on the spending on the CTS expenditure estimate and accomodate it into one of the fields on the paper you would find at the link. May be you can have the so called best leader of andhra pradesh do that. And then start speaking on the merits of it.

@ about projects taking one century:

I am not sure of YSR, but it will certainly take one hundred years under Naidu's rule.

@ Corruption;

Yeah. you are right. everyone else in the world is corrupt in the world except chandrababu naidu!!!

YSR peekindemi ledu. He could sell Land and Liquor and increased state revenue by several times. He also increased registration charges in cities and towns.
Andhra is #1 in excise revenue,Govt. land selling and Registration charges. can anyone say no ?
Next 5 years this policy is not going to work 100 percent!

While I agree that the govt. aggressive attitude in pushing liquor sales so as go gain more tax collections is not an acceptable and a very unethical scenario, it has to be remembered that it was Naidu who brought liquor back into the Andhra society for the sake of revenues.

It was because Naidu thought of himself being incapable of generating more revenues for the state's coffers without letting liquor flow in the society which is kind of an anti climax to what a state like Gujarat has been able to do successfully over the years.

Also Naidu had a very different model of generating revenues. Increasing the price of rice sold to the poorest of the poor in the society, increasing the tarriff of electricity phenomenally over half a dozen times further pushing middle class and farm sector into trouble.

About YSR selling govt lands I am not in favor of that although I must admit that atleast some value was being unlocked from non performing assets like govt lands. Here I must point out to you the deal naidu gave IMG bharata which involved 850 acres of land at almost nothing only to see the project never taking off.

I am also reminded of Prasads Multiplex land that was given away for a few crore rupees instead of calling for public auctions which would have certainly generated huge amounts of money to the govt considering the kind of prime location it is. Should I go on..Are you ready for a debate.

I say YSR is better than babu. That doesn't mean I am an outright supporter of YSR. It only means that I think he is the better one of the evils.
